Peace of mind purchase! All items will be shipped by priority mail, insured to the proper value of purchase.

If you are not happy with your purchase, return it and certificate of authenticity within seven days- unused, for a full refund of the purchase price. Refunds can take up to 10 days to process, after final receipt of returned product. 

Lifetime warranty on material and craftmanship. This means, if there is a flaw in the material or how the item was crafted, we will make it right. This does not mean we will replace your product if you abuse it and break it.

General maintenance of a handcrafted knife- 

Handcrafted knives are NOT dishwasher safe. So don't do it! When you are finished cutting, chopping, slicing- take a second and clean it with warm soapy water, rinse and dry the knife. It will still patina-and this provides a light protective covering to your knife, but will help avoid pitting of the blade. Pitting can lead to rust.

Keep Carbon steel blades lightly oiled, feel free to give the handle a bit too.

We use only VegTan leather, so there are no harsh chemicals used in the tanning process. If you are using and maintaining your knife, sheath storage is fine. If you are not using your knife, avoid storing it in its sheath long term, most Ben Akin Knives come shipped in a black storage pouch. Remove shipping tip protector before inserting knife in the sheath- it will get stuck! (Don't ask us how we know that)

Oil or condition leather sheath at least annually. More with frequent use or if it gets really dirty. This will help with overall longevity of the product.
